Barbados goes mad for cricket and at Cobblers Cove we are no different. As well as an annual staff versus guest match, the hotel runs a cricket academy in partnership with the Franklyn Stephenson Academy.

The newest training facility on the island of Barbados, the Academy is owned by record breaking, past professional cricketer and current golf professional Franklyn Stephenson – a Bajan national and ex-county cricketer who played for Nottinghamshire and Sussex. The Academy already provides coaching for local cricketers who show promise in the sport, while also playing host to professional teams from outside Barbados.

During the summer holiday season, guests can sign their teenage children up to sharpen their skills for the school cricket season. Sessions are tailored to the level of cricket the youngsters are playing and are open to all ages and abilities. All equipment is provided.

The cricket academy runs for two hours each day over a five day period and a typical session will include batting, bowling and fielding practice, followed by a game that will involve the participants of the day.

The cricket academy costs £30 per teenager per day based on a group of four.
