Scuba Diving and Sailing

Barbados is surrounded by crystal clear azure waters and an abundance of marine life – perfect for year-round diving, although best in the summer months. Underwater visibility ranges from 40 to 70ft and the water temperature is a consistent 80 degrees.

The fringes and reefs found off Barbados blossom with healthy sponges, coral and plant life and while there are several types of reefs, each one is unique in its own special way. Wrecks also form a fascinating habitat for marine life and Barbados has several excellent sites for wreck diving, some which are very close to Speightstown.  Several dive operators provide equipment, training and guided tours and will ensure your diving experience is everything you hoped for.

For those who seek the thrill of the catch, fishing operators offer deep sea fishing and coastal tours off the coast of Barbados. Here you are likely to catch Barracuda, Tuna, Wahoo and Blue and White Marlin.  Fishing is particularly good between January and April when all of the game fish are in season.

Scuba diving and fishing charters can be arranged through several reputable tour companies and can be arranged by the Cobblers Cove Concierge.
