Skim over the turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea. Every guest enjoys one complimentary boat trip for each day of their stay, with a charge for additional sessions. Our Water Sports team will get beginners going - you’ll be up on your feet and showing off tricks before you know it.

Have the experience of a lifetime swimming with the magnificent Hawksbill turtles that are native to Barbados. They hatch on both our beaches and adults are found swimming in our bay.

Cruise the coast & Picnic on a deserted beach

Arrange a picnic with the kitchen, book a boat ride with the Water Sports team and head off to a beautiful and quiet spot for the day. Let the Water Sports Team know in advance and they can make all the arrangements for you.

Fishing with Barker

Join Barker, our much loved, long-serving fisherman, in search of his ‘Catch of the Day’, served fresh to guests in the restaurant. Head out up north to the deep waters that are home to tuna, marlin, Mahi maki and king fish. Barker’s fishing boat is small & uncovered so best for hardened seafarers only.

Barbados has a rich history and fabulous old buildings, amongst them Bridgetown’s garrison which now has World Heritage status. We offer guests tailor-made guided tours with the knowledgeable Miguel Pena, head of The Barbados National Trust. A tour could include both public buildings and private plantation houses not usually open to the public and cost from US$250 per person for a half day tour, for a minimum of two people. Golf at Sandy Lane

Barbados is home to some of the best golf courses in the world & here you will find them all within easy reach. Play at one of Sandy Lane's three courses. In the summer there are golf camps to coach beginners. These camps cost £30 per teenager per day based on a group of four. Contact us for further information.

Play a round or take lessons at Royal Westmoreland, an 18 hole course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, rated as one of the finest in the Caribbean & offering preferred rates to our guests. You could join the inaugural Cobblers Cove Cup, taking place June 20th – 26th, 2019, a 54-hole stroke-play tournament, with 3 rounds, the winning team being the inaugural Cup Champions. Franklin Stevenson Cricket Academy

Cricket training can be organised for you at this fabulous facility owned by professional cricketer and golf professional Franklyn Stephenson, a Bajan national and ex-county cricketer. Teenagers are welcome to book into group sessions suitable to all abilities or private sessions. All equipment is provided. Sessions run for two hours each & might include batting, bowling & fielding. Sessions cost £30 per teenager per day based on a group of four.

Those with good sea legs may wish to charter a private catamaran to cruise the stunning coastline from the water. Please contact us for more details.

Deep Sea Fishing

Several operators offer deep sea fishing off the coast of Barbados. You are likely to catch Barracuda, Tuna, Wahoo and Blue and White Marlin.  Fishing is particularly good between January and April when all of the game fish are in season. Contact us here to enquire about this.

Surfing

There is wonderful surfing on the South and South East coasts. Take surfing lessons or just visit one of the safer surfing beaches for some roller coaster waves. Just email us here and we will help you organise this.

Diving

Barbados has crystal waters and abundant marine life. The water is near perfect for diving in the summer months but good year-round. Underwater visibility ranges from 40-70 ft and the water temperature is a consistent 80 degrees. Our reefs have healthy sponges, coral and plant life and each type of reef is unique. Wrecks also form a good habitat for marine life and Barbados has several sites for wreck diving, some very close to Speightstown.  Several dive operators provide equipment, training and guided tours to ensure your diving experience is everything you hoped for. Polo

Polo has been a popular sport in Barbados for well over a century. The international polo season starts just after Christmas & runs through to May with teams from all over the world visiting. New polo centres have sprung up in recent times, and their facilities and ambiance are terrific, but for many people the heartbeat of Barbados polo still remains at Holder’s Polo fields.

Horse Racing

The Barbados Turf Club, established in 1905, has three seasons a year, with about 25 race meetings between January & April, May to September and November to December at the Historic Garrison Savannah, close to Bridgetown and the home of racing here since 1845.

Cricket  

Cricket is the national sport of Barbados and the West Indies. Thousands flock to world-class matches at the Kensington Oval here to watch powerful batsmen and towering fast bowlers. Barbados is one of the international capitals of cricket and always contributes a large contingent to the West Indies team. You can catch a good game of cricket almost any time here, an international Test Match or One-Day at Kensington Oval, an exciting local First Division match, or a friendly game on the beach, an open pasture or village field.
